Lorikeet is a Sydney AI startup, and the first company since Canva to get early stage backing from Australia’s three biggest VCs.
What makes it different
Most customer service AI summarises FAQs. Lorikeet’s agents make judgment calls and take real action: cancel a lost debit card, verify the customer, update their address, dispatch a replacement, all without a human.
The focus
Highly regulated industries that other AI startups avoid: financial services, healthcare and energy. Their first deployment was end to end debit card replacement.
The growth
- Public launch in October 2024
- Revenue up 10x since
- Over US$50M raised across 3 rounds in about 10 months
- Latest: a US$35M Series A led by QED Investors in August 2025, at a reported $200M+ valuation
Customers and founders
Customers include Airwallex, Linktree, Flex and Eucalyptus. The founders come from Stripe and Google AI.
My read
Their bet is that the winner in customer service AI is not the smartest chatbot. It is the safest agent that can actually do things. In regulated industries, that is exactly the right bet.
